  1. I care because they make it seem like GOD favors them more than the other team. It's like playing rock, paper, scissors and then you throw in GOD. The political standpoint is to prevent anyone from being offended. I get that they funded everything themselves but maybe if the banner was on the fence and they were running through regular paper it would have been different. I think the other team was just worried about losing.

  2. I would have approved if the cheerleaders had made the banner to encourage the football team and school, not have the team rip through something so sacred and followed. I'm pretty sure if it was something that meant alot to them they would have done this another way. I don't approve at all because I was raised catholic and we don't do things like this, but again you can only do so much.

  3. This is not okay. They should respect that his name not be used for such an aggressive sport. And then for them to just run threw it and tear the meaning of his words. They should have done something differently. Personally, something that isn't such a senstive topic.

  4. There may have been other students, or maybe even players on the team, that have different beliefs, and that would come off as rude. I believe that public schools should should not be directly involved in religion.
Even though they have the freedom of speech, that is why there are private schools where it is okay for them to imply religion.

  5. Unless it was a private catholic or christian school then it would be okay. However that's not the case because people on the team and maybe even the coaches have different beliefs so it certainly is wrong to put out as a banner for everyone to see and then get ripped in half. So this won't happen again they can make a banner in the locker room similar and also they'd have to see if it is okay with everyone else to put something religious up. But in this case the actions of the school weren't okay for everyone else in the society.

  6. I agree with Erick, if the banners were in a private catholic or christian school then it'd be fine however if in a public school then it's definitely wrong because it could offend others who do not have the same religious beliefs, then the controversy would start.

  7. Honestly I really don't care. Why should I? Some faraway high school is having problems with political correctness. How should that stop me from enjoying my carefree day? It's news like this that is killing the American mind. Pointless reports on issues that only affect and matter to the city that they are being based on. We need real reporting. Tell me about how the Government is planing on paying back the world the 15 trillion that it owes. Not about some cheerleaders and their banners.

  8. I think is a disrespect to those who are really religious. People watching this dor sure got really offended, specially those parents who go see their son play who are so into religious views. It wouldve been okay if it was motivation but putting God in a banner and then football players tearing it apart is not okay. With the exception of a Private Catholic School.

  10. I don't see anything wrong with this, it's just people expressing the first amendment, America is recognized for being the land of freedom. if you disagree with their religious beliefs why should you get offended? it's not like someone is forcing the belief down your throat. the choice is yours. you choose to get offended and you choose your own beliefs. if you dislike or disagree then just ignore it. simple as that.

  11. We live in the United States, as member we pay dues called taxes to support public government run school and those schools run according to the constitution. The constitution says that the united states stay free of religion. As long as we pay taxes we can’t teach religion in our school.

  12. i think that what they did was wrong because they were only expressing one religion that must of gone against other persons religion yea they have freedom of religion .

  13. Thats not right because they shouldn't use the bible on football games. The worst is that they were ripping the things they wrote in the papers which where part of the bible. So they should be punished for doing that.

  14. I do think this is not right of what the cheerleaders did because people might feel offended by their religion because they do not have the same religion beliefs. The group is dedicated to the separation of church and state and believes that religion hinders social progress. American is a nation built on the concept of free expression of ideas, but the cheerleader should have use something else than the bible on the football games. Although, the cheerleaders create the banners without school funding, they qualify as free speech and should not be banned, But it could go against other people's religion.

  15. I believe that what they did was not right because like Yen said other people with other cultures and believes might get offended by this. Even thought we have freedom of religion in this country its hard to express are believes with some many cultures and different peoples.

  16. We Have Freedom Of Religion BUT We Should Express It At The Right Place & Time ... & On A Football Field Isn't It ! Think About How Many Different Religions We Have & Not To Mention Have Many Different Versions Of The Bible We Have We All Don't Follow The Same One .

  17. I think they should have thought it tthrough because if we can't talk about religious studies at school what made them think it's was ok to do. It at a football game thats god that they believe and go by the bible but re consider how and when to express them so no I don't approve because it could disturb some people..

  19. I wouldn't approve this because as in my school to other ones everyone have different beliefs. And the word of god shouldn't be like a game were you could use it anywhere . yes we have freedom of religion but its not to be use as in football games theirs other ways to support your football team.
