Current Event Due 4/24/13
Give me your 2¢
I've been neglecting my blog/s this semester and have suddenly gotten a burst of energy and inspiration. I have so many project ideas to do with "my seniors", but it seems like there isn't enough time. I don't have them for very much longer and I sincerely want to have them do meaningful, memorable & worthwhile projects/assignments.
We haven't focused as much as I would like on current events this semester. So, my latest idea is to have them post a link about an important current issue/event and give their 2¢! The students' 2¢ must demonstrate intellectual curiosity, thoughtful conclusions, and strong convictions.
Students can use the previous current event assignments criteria to give them some ideas. This blog comment/post will count as a quiz grade. Since the link will be posted & published on my blog for #the world to see, there is no need for "citing your sources", as it were. However, I encourage "quoting" from the article.
*Note:
Before posting a comment, students must be logged into their personal gmail acct OR SBISD Google Apps acct.
Compose comment on another document first (AKA rough draft).
Copy and paste comment. Sometimes comments disappear. :(
If a post disappears and it was saved on a document, it is only a matter of C&P again OR post it on the
Class of 2013 - Facebook page - West ~ Econ/Gov't
